Whether you are someone who is an avid gym-goer or you occasionally step into the gym every once in a while (or never), I'm sure I'm not alone here in wondering about the lives of personal trainers, group fitness instructors, workout coaches — or people who otherwise get paid to work out for a living.
Personally, as someone who loves a good workout, I have quite a few questions for fitness pros.
For example, I'd love to know: What are some of the most surprising things about being in the fitness industry?
Speaking of clients, are there common things they do that secretly (or not-so-secretly) drive you up the wall?
And being in the business of being so physically ~close~ with people on a daily basis, do things ever get... awkward? Are you constantly getting hit on?
(And yes, I'm just going to ask: have you ever dated a client??)
Is there anything about the job that you secretly hate? When do you find time to workout for yourself?
Are there darker sides to an industry that prides itself in the physicality of it all?
How common is body dysmorphia (or related issues) behind the scenes? Beyond the physical, are there mental or emotional aspects that don't get talked about enough?
