Five top gymnasts to watch during the SEC Championships, Saturday on the SEC Network:
Haleigh Bryant, Jr., LSU
The 2021 SEC and NCAA vault champion leads the nation in scoring on vault and is the SEC’s top-ranked all-arounder. Had three perfect 10s against West Virginia.
Luisa Blanco, Sr., Alabama
Won four titles at 2021 SECs and 2021 NCAA balance beam championship. Ranked No. 3 nationally on beam with three perfect 10s, including one at LSU.
Suni Lee, So., Auburn
The reigning Olympic all-around gold medalist missed Auburn’s past two meets with an undisclosed health issue. If Lee does compete, she’s a contender on bars, beam.
Trinity Thomas, Sr., Florida
Could be a showdown between Bryant and Thomas, who has five 10s on three events. First nationally on bars, third on floor, fourth in all-around.
Raena Worley, Sr., Kentucky
Tenth nationally in all-around and seventh on floor, where she is serious title contender. Has scored 9.95 or better in past four meets in that event.
