Lately, Ishan Kishan's cricket career hasn't been without its challenges, but the wicketkeeper-batsman seemed upbeat and in good spirits at the Mumbai Indians' camp in preparation for the upcoming Indian Premier League season. Five-time champions Mumbai will begin their campaign this season on March 24 against last year's runners-up Gujarat Titans.

Ishan Kishan hasn't had a particularly smooth ride of late as far as his cricket career is concerned, but the wicketkeeper-batsman looked in high spirits at the Mumbai Indians' camp ahead of the coming Indian Premier League (IPL) season.

Kishan was not included in the list of BCCI's annual contracts after he made himself unavailable for his state side Jharkhand for the Ranji Trophy despite being fully fit and not on national duty.
Shreyas Iyer, along with Ishan Kishan, missed out on the BCCI contract for the same reason. However, Iyer later did play the Ranji semifinal and final for Mumbai.

Kishan is now looking to put the off-field troubles behind him and be at the top of his game for MI this IPL season. And it showed in a video shared by MI on Friday, where Ishan is seen wearing a curly-hair wig to imitate MI bowling coach and Sri Lankan great Lasith Malinga's looks. He then imitated Malinga's unuusual round-arm bowling action, which made the islander famous besides his lethal yorkers.

"Bowling action dono saath mei kare (shall we do your bowling action together)?" Ishan could be heard asking Malinga in the video.
IPL 2024 begins on March 22, and Mumbai will start their campaign on March 24 against last year's runners-up Gujarat Titans.
MI will be led by Hardik Pandya this season, after the allrounder was traded in from Gujarat Titans and replaced Rohit Sharma as skipper of the five-time champions.
