NEW DELHI: Star India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja fondly recalled the moment when Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni embraced and lifted him after his stellar performance guided CSK to their record fifth title by defeating the Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 final.
In the crucial 15th and final over of the match, CSK found themselves in a precarious situation, requiring 10 runs off the last two balls.
It was then that the seasoned Jadeja turned the tide in his team's favor, smashing medium-pacer Mohit Sharma for a six and a four.

CSK shared a video on their social media platform, showcasing Jadeja holding a portrait of Dhoni lifting him on the memorable night of the IPL 2023 final.
"The moment from The Man himself," wrote CSK on X.

'...he (Dhoni) just stopped me and he lifted me. Yes, obviously this is one of my all-time favourite memories. I will never forget this hug from Thala. This will remain inside my heart forever. Love you, Thala. Cheers," Jadeja said in the video.
Defending champions CSK will face Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL 2024 opener on Friday at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
