With the many entertainment choices New York City has to offer, it can be difficult to make a choice. Look no further. “On Stage” host Frank DiLella has curated a list of “must-see” shows this week, directing you to the best of Broadway, off-Broadway and beyond.

"The Outsiders"

The beloved novel, "The Outsiders"  is being brought to life on the musical stage. Expect to see Ponyboy, Curtis and the gang in their fight for survival, now in previews at The Jacobs Theatre.

The musical features a score by the folk band, Jamestown Revival, and stars Justin Levine, who won a Tony award for "Moulin Rouge! the Musical." "The Outsiders" officially opens at The Jacobs Theatre on April 11.

"Sweeney Todd"

At The Lunt-Fontanne Theatre on 46th Street, there’s a new Sweeney Todd and Mrs. Lovett in town!

Tony-winners Aaron Tveit and Sutton Foster are currently taking on the murderous duo in the Sondheim revival. And they are not to be missed!

"The Ally"

Down at The Public Theater, "How I Met Your Mother" star Josh Radnor is leading the company of "The Ally" by Tony-winning writer Itamar Moses. In the world premiere, Radnor plays Asaf, a college professor who is asked to sign a student’s social justice manifesto.

What initially seems to be a simple task actually causes Asaf to question what it means to be many things, including Jewish, an artist and an American. "The Ally" is playing through April 7. For tickets, head here.

Andrea McArdle

Finally, on the cabaret front, don’t miss the original Annie, Andrea McArdle, at 54 Below on March 29 and 30.

In her new show called, “Confessions of a Broadway Baby,” McArdle will share stories and perform tunes by Stephen Sondheim, Johnny Mercer, Charles Strouse, Jerry Herman and more. For tickets, head here.
