PUBLISHED: | UPDATED:

Investigators are no longer pursuing their probe into Anne Heche’s car crash, police said.

The update comes after a representative for the actress said Heche was declared legally dead in California.

“There will be no further investigative efforts made in this case,” the Los Angeles Police Department said in a statement to the Daily News.

“Any information or records that have been requested prior to this turn of events will still be collected as they arrive as a matter of formalities and included in the overall case. When a person suspected of a crime expires, we do not present for filing consideration.”

Heche, 53, crashed her car into a house in the Mar Vista area of Los Angeles on Aug. 5, causing a fire that required nearly 60 firefighters to put it out. The police investigation officially came to an end Friday.

In an update Friday, Heche was said to be declared brain dead, which California considers the legal definition of death.

“While Anne is legally dead according to California law, her heart is still beating, and she has not been taken off life support so that One Legacy can see if she is a match for organ donation,” Heche’s rep told the Daily News.

A representative for Heche didn’t immediately respond to a request for an update Sunday.

Before she crashed into the house, Heche crashed her car into an apartment complex garage that day, and then sped away, according to TMZ.

Her rep shared multiple updates in the days after the crash, saying Heche was badly injured and in a coma.

Heche won a Daytime Emmy in 1991 for the soap opera “Another World,” and was also known for films including the 1998 action-comedy “Six Days, Seven Nights,” which co-starred Harrison Ford.
