Amy Grant is taking a breather.

The 61-year-old Christian pop artist‘s team took to her Instagram Friday to announce that her previously scheduled fall tour dates will be postponed until early next year.

News of the postponed dates, which will instead take place “throughout February – April 2023? and will honor existing tickets, was announced in the wake of a cycling accident Grant was involved in late last month.

“Amy is getting stronger every day. Just as she did after her heart surgery, we are amazed at how fast she heals,” wrote Grant’s manager. “Although she is doing much better, we have made the difficult decision to postpone her fall tour so she can concentrate on her recovery and rebuild her stamina.”

The six-time Grammy winner — who last month was announced to be among this year’s Kennedy Center honorees — “wants to be able to give 100% when she tours,” something her team doesn’t believe is viable in time for rehearsals for the would-be fall shows, according to her manager.

Grant isn’t completely on hiatus through the rest of the year though. She plans to “resume touring in November on the Christmas Tour with Michael W. Smith and the annual Roman Residency with [husband] Vince Gill,” according to the post.

Grant, who in June 2020 underwent “unanticipated” open heart surgery, thanked those who have wished her well since the July 27 accident and “feels the impact of the collective good will extended her way.”
