Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers recap for Thursday, April 4, reveals that Kate Roberts Brady (Lauren Koslow) visited the monastery again to deliver some snacks, books and other supplies to Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo). Kate hinted about praying for Lucas, but he wanted Kate to help him get out of there.
Although Kate pointed out that Lucas’ deal with Harris Michaels (Steve Burton) never became official, she eventually suggested she’d take this to the governor if she had to.
Lucas had never been this lonely for so long before, Kate offered a pep talk and promised to help score his freedom.
At Small Bar on Thursday’s Days episode, Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) ran into Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) and questioned his motives for dating Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk).
When Paulina Price (Jackée Harry) appeared, Alex got updates on her girls’ night with Marlena and made himself scarce.
Paulina ordered a vodka neat and complained about her special diet ahead of her radioactive iodine treatment.
Although Paulina wasn’t looking forward to isolation, Marlena suggested she could suit up and stop by to see her briefly. The hospital would make an exception on the no-visitors policy for Marlena.
Paulina also talked to Marlena about Lexie Carver (Jennifer K. Lee) popping up in her hospital room to deliver miracles and feared Marlena would think she was crazy.
Marlena didn’t believe Paulina was insane and acted like there were all sorts of things in this world people didn’t understand.
Once Paulina asked how Marlena was doing, Marlena hinted about her struggles when it came to helping John Black (Drake Hogestyn) deal with his past.
At the townhouse on Thursday’s Days episode, Tate Black (Jamie Martin Mann) came home with Theresa Donovan (Emily O’Brien) and Brady Black (Eric Martsolf).
Now that Tate was free and had his ankle monitor off, he wanted to grab a burger and catch up with his friends.
Brady and Theresa made Tate promise he wouldn’t see Holly Jonas (Ashley Puzemis) while he was out, so he made that promise and took off.
Since Tate would need his room back, Theresa told Brady she should probably clear her stuff out.
Brady said Tate could crash on the couch, but Theresa argued that Tate deserved to sleep in his own bed after spending so long at the halfway house.
Brady suggested Theresa could sleep in his bed instead, so she seemed taken aback over the idea. Once Brady realized how it sounded, he clarified that Theresa could take his bed while he slept on the sofa.
Theresa acted like she knew what Brady meant, but she declined once again and felt it was better for everyone if she moved out.
Theresa said she’d get a room at the Salem Inn and gave Brady a hug before leaving with her suitcases.
Afterward on Thursday’s DOOL show, Brady looked at a framed photo of himself with Theresa and Tate.
It seemed like Brady’s feelings for Theresa were bubbling back up since he warned himself not to go there.
In the park, Alex ran into Tate and seemed concerned about him leaving the halfway house. Tate explained that he was free and suggested Alex shouldn’t pretend that he cares.
Alex pointed out that Theresa was the one who broke up with him and assured Tate that he was indeed happy about his release.
When Tate faced more questions about his freedom, it became obvious that he was trying to downplay Holly’s guilt in the situation.
Alex marveled over Tate covering for Holly and thought Tate was a better man than him.
If someone had screwed Alex over like that, he didn’t think he could get past it so easily.
Later, Alex bumped into Theresa with her luggage in the town square.
After Alex mentioned his encounter with Tate earlier, he argued against Theresa getting a room at the Salem Inn.
Alex insisted Theresa could move back in with him and saw no reason why they couldn’t go back to their original platonic roommate situation.
Theresa was skeptical at first, but Alex said he’d be a perfect gentleman and got her to agree.
At the DiMera mansion on Thursday’s Days episode, Nicole DiMera (Arianne Zucker) sat down with Holly and offered news on her punishment.
Nicole pointed out that Holly committed a crime by lying and allowing EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) to prosecute innocent Tate.
Although Holly was apologetic and ready to face the consequences at first, she changed her tune as the conversation continued.
Nicole grilled Holly about scoring the drugs from school and got her to admit to sneaking two glasses of Champagne at the christening reception. It proved to Nicole that she couldn’t trust Holly right now.
Nicole ordered Holly to write apology letters and attend therapy – which could bring further treatment if her therapist felt it was necessary.
Holly realized that could mean rehab, so she flipped out over the idea.
Plus, Nicole demanded Holly’s cell phone and car keys since she was grounded indefinitely.
This was part of Nicole’s plan to protect Holly and keep her from relapsing.
Nicole complained since she’d been stuck in a coma for so long and felt Nicole was robbing her of a chance to live.
Although Holly tried to tell Nicole no on surrendering her phone and car keys, Nicole insisted on her daughter handing them over.
Holly finally blew up at Nicole, so she went on a tirade about keeping secrets so that Nicole wouldn’t think she was a bad mom.
In reality, Holly only turned to drugs because Nicole was so checked out.
Holly mentioned that her dad passed away before she was born, so Nicole was the only parent she had.
During Holly’s rant, she basically accused her mom of teaching her to be self-sufficient so Nicole wouldn’t have to be there for her.
Holly also slammed Nicole’s romantic choices since she screwed things up with Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) and was now with EJ, who didn’t care about Holly – at least according to Holly herself.
After Holly made a comment about not knowing who Nicole would be with next year, Nicole raised her hand and nearly smacked her.
However, Nicole ultimately went upstairs to bed and thought Holly should do the same. On the staircase, Nicole paused and looked heartbroken.
Meanwhile, Tate snuck in and surprised Holly with a kiss. Holly admitted she hadn’t been answering Tate’s texts since Nicole took her phone away.
When they heard Nicole coming back, Tate said he’d see Holly soon and snuck back out. That gave Nicole a chance to speak with Holly again since she didn’t want to go to bed angry.
Nicole reflected on almost losing Holly and tried to convey how much her daughter meant to her, but Holly remained upset with her mom.
