Law enforcement on Thursday found the body of a dead woman inside a vehicle belonging to a Milliken woman who was reported missing and hadn’t been seen for five days.

Though the Weld County Sheriff’s Office noted they found the woman during their search for 51-year-old Rebecca Greenup, the agency hasn’t identified the body as belonging to Greenup, as the Weld County Coroner’s Office works to identify the woman.

Greenup’s cellphone and her vehicle were found Thursday by representatives of the sheriff’s office, the Milliken Police Department, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Boulder County District Attorney’s Office, according to a news release from the Weld County Sheriff’s Office issued Friday evening.

The Milliken Police Department began investigating Greenup’s disappearance on April 2.

The sheriff’s office and the Weld County Coroner’s Office are investigating the body found in the vehicle. The sheriff’s office said no foul play is suspected and there is no danger for the town of Milliken or Weld County communities.

No additional information will be released as the investigation continues, the sheriff’s office said.

One of Greenup’s daughters established a GoFundMe account for Greenup’s end-of-life expenses, according to Justice Takes Flight-Colorado Missing Persons Facebook page, facebook.com/JusticeTakesFlight

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call Sgt. Rick Jandegian of the Milliken Police Department at (970) 660-5016.
