AI boot camp for communicators set for Friday

Listen to this articleHow is AI impacting the work of communicators? That’s the focus of the Fair Media Boot Camp on Friday, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Jones Beach Energy & Nature Center in Wantagh.
The morning is designed to offer insights for content creators, media relations professionals, social media managers, public relations representatives and storytellers.
The boot camp will include insights on spotting and overcoming “deep fakes” and disinformation while honing AI techniques.
Speakers include Tim Scheld, a journalist and adjunct professor and retired WCBS AM broadcast news director; Jamie Cohen, of the Digital Void Podcast and assistant professor of media studies at Queens College; and Savannah Thais, an associate research scientist from The Data Science Institute at Columbia University.
