Jennifer Lawrence has shared that her road to motherhood was paved with multiple bumps.
The Oscar winner and new mom, 32, told Vogue in a story about Wednesday that she suffered two miscarriages before having her son in February.
“I had a miscarriage alone in Montreal,” Lawrence said of the pregnancy she had in her early 20s, which she had intended to abort.
The second time, while filming Netflix’s Oscar-nominated end-of-the-world dramedy, “Don’t Look Up,” after marrying art gallerist Cooke Maroney, Lawrence got pregnant again, but couldn’t carry to term.
She told Vogue that she had to undergo a dilation and curettage. The procedure, otherwise known as a D&C, involves removing tissue from the uterus.
Third time must have been the charm for the “Silver Linings Playbook” and “Hunger Games” star — who with Maroney welcomed her first child, son Cy, back in February.
“The morning after I gave birth, I felt like my whole life had started over,” said Lawrence. “Like, ‘Now is day one of my life.’ I just stared. I was just so in love.”
