Members of the Kutztown Rotary Club honored Annabel Pfeiler-Wunder as the April Student of the Month during an April 3 ceremony at Kutztown Tavern.

Each month throughout the school year Kutztown and Brandywine Heights area high school administrators each select one student for this award based collectively on academic achievements, school participation, and community contributions. The Student of the Month ceremony is held during the Kutztown Rotary meeting on the first Wednesday of the month at the Kutztown Tavern.

The April Brandywine Student of the Month had a schedule conflict and was unable to attend the meeting however will be present at the Student of the Month celebration in May.

Annabel Pfeiler-Wunder was selected as Kutztown Area High School’s April Student of the Month.

The daughter of Amy Pfeiler-Wunder and Douglas Wunder of Kutztown, Annabel is a senior at Kutztown Area High School. She has stayed involved in all aspects of music throughout high school. Annabel was a member of her schools marching band from 9-12 grade and was the drum major this school year. She is also active playing oboe in the Kutztown High School Band and Kutztown University Orchestra.

She played oboe for the Reading Symphony Youth Orchestra and KU Wind Ensemble 2022-2023. She participated in the KASD musical both her junior year and this year playing flute, clarinet, and alto saxophone in the pit band. She has stayed involved in Chorus and Select Choir as well.

Over the past few years, Annabel auditioned and was invited to participate in the Senior County Band, Senior County Orchestra, District Orchestra, District Band, Senior County Chorus and District Chorus.

In high school, Annabel has been a leader in a variety of roles. She served as the marching band secretary 2022-2023, Tri-M treasurer 2023-present and Leo Club secretary 2023-present. She stayed involved as the Art Club vice president 2022-present and served as the president for National Art Honor Society this past school year. Annabel has also been on the high honor roll all through high school.

Annabel has been active as a volunteer for Music in the Parks and helped freshmen at Camp Cougar this school year. She also assisted elementary students at the STEAM Fair in 2022-2023 and served as a smart mentor to help freshmen become acclimated to high school during her senior year.

Annabel currently works at Betty’s and Four Monkeys Coffee Shop.

After graduation, Annabel plans to attend West Chester University to study music and aspires to get a degree in music education.
