Fairfield police arrested a series of suspects on firearms-related arrests last week.

Department officials said the first arrest occurred when an officer made a traffic stop at approximately 12:40 p.m. on April 8 at Sunset Avenue and Railroad Avenue for a vehicle code violation.

After developing probable cause, the officer searched the vehicle and, in the process, located a loaded and stolen handgun under the passenger seat. According to officials, the firearm had been reported stolen to the Merced Police Department.

The driver, identified as 46-year-old Josiah Boyd-Vaughn, was arrested on suspicion of multiple felony gun-related charges, including carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle, carrying a loaded, stolen firearm and possession of armour-piercing handgun ammunition. He was booked into the Solano County Jail and bail was set at $25,000.

Three days later, on April 11, department officials said detectives from the Special Operations Team (SOT) conducted a traffic stop near a local elementary school at approximately 10 p.m.

“While contacting the occupants, detectives established probable cause to search the vehicle,” read a release issued by the department. “They also discovered the passenger of the vehicle had outstanding warrants for their arrest. During the following vehicle search, a loaded (Tec-9) gun was located on the rear floorboard of the vehicle.”

The driver, identified as 42-year-old Roscoe Rhodes, was arrested on suspicion of several felony charges, including carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle, carrying a loaded firearm in a public place, carrying a loaded firearm while not being the registered owner, being a felon in possession of a firearm, being a felon in possession of ammunition, being in possession of a machine gun and driving with a suspended license. He was booked into the Solano County Jail and bail was set at $25,000.

The passenger, identified as 20-year-old Tarisha Case, was arrested as well for her outstanding warrants.

The third incident occurred on Saturday, April 13, when a vehicle reportedly involved in an armed carjacking was captured on Flock cameras traveling eastbound on Travis Boulevard from Interstate-80 at approximately 6:21 p.m. that evening.

“Several officers responded and, upon locating the vehicle near Travis Boulevard at Pennsylvania Avenue, initiated a traffic stop,” said department officials in a statement regarding the incident. “The vehicle continued moving, turning onto Travion Court then continuing to the rear parking lot. Four people exited the vehicle as it was still moving.”

According to officials, two of the suspects immediately surrendered while the other two fled but were located a short distance away.

Officials said all four occupants of the vehicle were juveniles out of Sacramento and, due to their ages, their identities are being withheld.

The driver, who had a warrant out for his arrest, was transported and booked into Juvenile Hall.
