Two people were arrested April 1 on suspicion of separate burglaries in Vallejo.

According to officials from the Vallejo Police Department, the first incident occurred when a victim, who resided on the 1400 block of Napa Street, informed the officers that an unknown person had kicked in his back door and entered his home.

Department officials said officers arrived at the scene and helped the sole occupant of the house escape through his bedroom window before making multiple loud announcements for the burglar to surrender. Officials said despite several attempts to contact the suspect, he refused to comply and remained concealed inside the residence.

“The officers entered the home and found the suspect hiding in one of the rooms,” said officials in a release.

When officers made contact with the suspect, officials said he was wearing the victim’s $1,500 watch and had the house keys in his possession.

“A search of the property revealed that the burglar had removed several items from the residence and placed them in the backyard,” read the release.

Officials said the suspect was taken into custody and booked into the Solano County Jail.

The second burglary also occurred April 1 on the 1500 block of Marin Street, when officials said another victim entered his residence to find a female burglar holding a machete in his living room.

According to officials, the victim called 911, and officers arrived quickly to that scene, where they observed the burglar attempting to flee. At that time, officers arrested the woman and she was booked into the Solano County Jail.

No injuries were reported during either of these incidents, according to officials.
