Hitters went just 2 for 17 on fastballs put in play. … Anderson has been one of the bigger surprises in the majors this season, coming out of nowhere to be one of the Dodgers’ better starters. His ERA is more than two full runs lower than it was combined from 2017-2021. … Anderson has faced the Diamondbacks twice this season, giving up two runs in 13 innings, with one walk and 13 strikeouts.

Dodgers update: The Dodgers entered Sunday with 95 wins, the most in the majors. They led the second-place San Diego Padres by 19 games in the National League West, putting them in position to potentially clinch the division this week at Chase Field. They have the best offense in the majors, averaging 5.4 runs per game, nearly a half-run better than the next closest team, the Atlanta Braves (4.96). They also have the best pitching staff in the majors; their 2.89 ERA is a tick better than the Houston Astros (2.96). 1B Freddie Freeman entered Sunday on a tear, going 13 for 27 (.482) with five extra-base hits in his past seven games; he leads the NL with a .330 average and 45 doubles. RF Mookie Betts is having another huge year. He has a .276/.349/.556 line with 33 homers and 12 stolen bases. SS Trea Turner also is having a strong season (.305/.350/.482) in his final year before free agency. RHP Craig Kimbrel has converted 22 saves in 26 chances but has just a 3.81 ERA and has not been a reliable presence for them in the ninth inning.
