Bears fans are currently focused on the fall sports, but it won’t be long until basketball season begins.

The University of Northern Colorado women’s basketball team announced its nonconference schedule on Wednesday afternoon, which features some big names and in-state rivals.

UNC will open the season on Nov. 4 when it hosts Chadron State. The first away game is set for the following week on Nov. 11, when the team heads down to face the Denver Pioneers.

The Bears should be considered an honorary member of the Summit League this season. Not only do they play Denver, but they will face North Dakota State, South Dakota and Omaha, as well.

Northern Colorado will host Colorado State in Greeley on Nov. 29 and travel to Kansas State on Dec. 18.

The Big Sky schedule will begin at the end of December at Weber State.
