CHICO — Chico State’s student health center sent out an email Thursday afternoon alerting the campus community about a potential tuberculosis case on campus.

The email said the WellCat Health Center is working closely with Butte County Public Health, “to investigate a person on campus with possible active tuberculosis.”

The person who may have tuberculosis is currently isolating and will undergo a follow-up test to confirm if they do in fact have tuberculosis. If the person is positive for tuberculosis, WellCat Health Center will coordinate with Butte County Public Health to contact people who have been exposed.

According to the email updates will be provided “as necessary.”
