Packet Digital Plans to Build Battery Cell Factory in North Dakota
FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — Fargo-based Packet Digital has big plans to build a battery cell factory in North Dakota.
The company is already known for being a leader in designing and manufacturing batteries for drones.
The state’s first battery cell plant will be built in north Fargo.
The company has been given a $17 million award by the Clean Sustainable Energy Authority, a branch of North Dakota’s Industrial Commission.
Packet Digital leaders say they are on track to make the U.S. a larger player in drone battery manufacturing.
The goal is to manufacture battery cells by the end of 2025 with the facility running at maximum capacity by 2028.
