Parks with a Purpose Fundraiser: 3 p.m., Knights of Columbus, 421 S. 11th Ave.,  Sterling. Live auction starting at 4:30 p.m., pizza, desserts, soft drinks and beer. Baby Bear Hugs Under the Sea Gala: 5:30 p.m. happy hour, 6 p.m. dinner, Riverview Golf Course, 13064 County Road 370, Sterling. Cocktails, dinner and dessert. Live and virtual auctions. Caliche FFA Labor Auction & Oyster Fry: 6 p.m. dinner, 7 p.m. auction, Caliche Ag Shop. Silent auction items, projects made by students. Cost $12 for adults (13+) and $8 for kids. Proceeds go to Caliche FFA chapter to continue attending leadership conferences.

Heritage Center Dance Group: 6:30 p.m., Heritage Center. Cost $8. Everyone welcome.

NJC Theatre Presents ‘Almost Maine’: 7 p.m., Dorothy Corsberg Theatre inside E.S. French Hall. Free admission, donations accepted.

Zion Congregational Church Soup Kitchen: 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., 5th Street and Chestnut. Come to the back door and down the stairs. Free. Meals served to anyone who is hungry and in need of a hot meal.
