RED BLUFF — An alleged suicidal man was stopped by the Red Bluff Police Department and a bystander before he could do any damage could be done.

Police around 9:10 a.m. received a 9-1-1 call reporting a man had entered a business on Walnut Street with butane cans strapped to his chest and making suicidal statements, according to a press release issued Monday by RBPD.

Officers arrived on the scene and, with the assistance of a bystander, were able to detain the man. The man was taken into custody without incident.

The name of the man involved and further details of this case will not be released at this time, the release said.
