See How Each Senator Voted on Raising the Debt Limit

The U.S. Senate approved legislation Thursday raising the debt ceiling and setting federal spending limits. The deal will be sent to President Biden’s desk for his signature, days before the nation is set to default. A bipartisan coalition in the House passed the compromise measure Wednesday.

The bill would suspend the debt limit for two years and effectively freeze federal spending that had been on track to grow. Republicans also extracted a series of policy concessions from the Biden administration, including clawing back some money approved by Congress to bolster the I.R.S. and imposing new work requirements on some recipients of government benefits.
