Prince Harry was ‘cruel’ to queen during ‘painful’ final days: friend

A close friend of Queen Elizabeth has blasted Prince Harry for being “cruel” in her final days.

The late monarch passed away last September at the age of 96, and her friend has claimed that her grandson, 38, made the end of her life painful.

The pal alleged to the Daily Beast recently that Elizabeth was suffering from “painful” bone cancer towards the end of her life, and Harry’s announcement that he would write his memoir “Spare” added to her ailments.

“For the last years of her life, certainly from when her husband died [in April 2021], the queen was in a lot of pain. In the final months, of course, it got very much worse,” the source said.

Her longtime love, Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, died in April 2021 — just months before his 100th birthday,

They added that by the time her Platinum Jubilee rolled around in June 2022, the queen was “easily confused” and battled mobility issues.

“That was the time for Harry and [wife Meghan Markle] to bite their tongue. Instead, they produced this unending stream of incredibly hurtful films and interviews attacking her life’s work,” they fumed.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex took a step back as senior members of the royal family and subsequently moved to Montecito, Calif., in 2020.

Just a year later, the couple had a bombshell sit-down chat with Oprah Winfrey where they made several allegations against the Firm.

The friend then denounced the publication: “For Harry to announce he was writing a memoir when his grandmother was not just recently widowed but actually dying herself, as he must have known she was—well, the cruelty of it takes the breath away.”

Reports surfaced on June 1 that the former actress, 41, and the Invictus Games CEO had “nothing left to say” and would cease dropping tell-all projects.

However, the sovereign’s bestie doesn’t buy it.

“The idea that they are now going to take a vow of silence after all the damage they have done, even if it was true, which I very much doubt, will do nothing to assuage the anger and disgust some of her friends feel about what they did to the queen in her final years,” they scoffed.

Other confidantes were also interviewed for the Daily Beast, shedding some light on what killed the long-reigning royal. It was noted at the time of her death that she perished from “old age,” however, they asserted it was also from cancer.

The insiders revealed that the queen found it hard to concentrate on difficult tasks for more than a few minutes.

“The ongoing pain of her condition was partly responsible for her withdrawal from many aspects of public life,” the sources observed.

Harry seemingly referenced his grandmother’s ill health in an April 2022 interview with the Today Show.

“I’m just making sure she’s, you know, protected, and got the right people around her,” he remarked.
