I swear it only ever happens when you’ve got the whole evening off, the kids are in bed, you’ve replied to your last work email, and your beverage is perfectly cold. It’s like the game waits for you to be locked in before giving up. Valorant is a culprit for these dreaded problems with error code 7 plaguing people’s screens. There are a few things you can try to get back into the fight, though.

When you receive error code 7 in Valorant, it will be accompanied by the message “We are aware of issues with social panel and logins for some players. We are working on a fix. There was an error connecting to the platform. Please restart your game client.”

The rebel in you might want to ignore the suggestion made by Epic, but you may find a moment of obedience helps you here. Error code 7 in Valorant usually has to do with a server error due to login problems. By closing your game and closing Epic from your task tray in the bottom right of your PC, you will force it to reconnect.

Failing this, a complete restart of your PC may be in order. Simply shut down your PC and initiate a restart.

Delete and reinstall Riot Vanguard

If you have an issue with your security programs, you will run into error code 7 in Valorant. The security protocols stop people from cheating, but they can become corrupted. When Riot Vanguard becomes corrupt, it will prevent you from logging in. Simply follow these steps to reinstall it.

  • Open This PC and navigate to your C drive
  • In Program Files, locate a folder named Riot Vanguard
  • Delete this folder
  • Reset your PC
  • Reopen the Epic Game launcher and run Valorant
  • Epic will reinstall a clean version of Riot Vanguard

Check the Valorant riot servers

Often, when a server gets overloaded or routine maintenance is needed, it will encounter problems. Thankfully, Riot has a website you can use to check the status of your local servers. If your local server is down, you will receive error code 7 in Valorant. Navigate to this page and check the status of your local server.

If this is the case, you’re just going to have to sit tight and wait for them to be online. Maybe play another game, learn to play the harmonica, or take up knitting.
