Hitman 3 has done gangbusters for IO Interactive, with CEO Hakan Abrak claiming this year's entry was 300% more commercially successful than previous entry Hitman 2.
We called Hitman 3 "IO's most creative and surprising assassination sim yet", and it seems like we weren't alone. In interview with GamesIndustry.biz (above), Abrak explained that Hitman 3 wasn't just the highest-rated critically of the series—it was also the most profitable, despite being the first game entirely self-published by the studio.
Cultured Vultures: With the World of Assassination Trilogy wrapped up, here's our thoughts on the best and the worst in the series.
Megan writes: "This announcement is dedicated to everyone who loves games, loves reading about games, or those people who click on links about games – this one’s for you. We’ve got more coming to Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass soon; some are even available today! Whether you’re looking to squad up with your friends to take on a constantly evolving alien threat, become a world class assassin, or planning to brush up on your dog photography skills (we’ve seen them on Instagram!), we’ve got you covered. Let’s dig into the games!"
Gamepass just eating a bowl of W's cereal this month! I need to sub for a few more years before the price goes up!
Death's Door is seriously a fantastic game. I highly recommend everyone play it.
I have never played a Hitman so this is absolutely great news for me
GP just keeps getting better
Here's a step by step guide on how to do it:
1) Redeem Hitman 2 off PS Plus and then download the Hitman 3 Starter Pack.
2) Claim Hitman 3 Access Pass: Hitman 2 Standard off the PS Store.
3) Play Hitman 2 through Hitman 3 by launching the PS5 Starter Pack.
When trying to download the access pass it says 'Not available for purchase' and the only option is to add it to the wishlist.
Any clue what to do?
Hopefully that means Hitman 4 will sell 400% better!
Continues the tradition of great opportunities. You can even manipulate a target to suicide. Genius!
With a little help from PSVR owners.
One thing good about hitman games is because it's a fan fave game the price really drops Il grab this when it's sub 15£
I’m happy they’re making profits. They took a big risk self-publishing, but clearly they were right: they know how to sell 6 levels for $60. And it sounds like their last publisher didn’t believe it was possible. Who could blame them? I think you need to be a genuine fan of the franchise in order to understand how it’s really the only way to go for Hitman. We fans would trade 100 linear Hitman levels for 1 gigantic level.
