Everything we know about Chicago cop Eric Stillman, who shot Adam Toledo

The Chicago cop who shot and killed seventh-grader Adam Toledo had never fired his gun on duty before.

City officials released body-camera footage Thursday showing the nearly six-year police veteran, Officer Eric Stillman, firing a single fatal bullet at the 13-year-old boy during a police chase early March 29.

The video shows Toledo toss a firearm and turn around, slowly showing his hands, before Stillman fires.

Here’s what we know about the officer’s past:

The 34-year-old cop joined the Chicago Police Department in August 2015 and was assigned to patrol the city’s Ogden District, records show.

At the time of last month’s shooting, he was assigned to a beat on the city’s West Side, according to records posted online by Invisible Institute, which publishes police-encounter records.
