Resident Evil 3 - Review | Progress Bar

Resident Evil 3 may shine at times, but it feels rushed, never really giving you a chance to slow down and smell the zombies.

That's not a 5.5 game, I'm sorry.

A review is just an opinion, but I've been seeing a lot of 6's and 7's for this game coming through. This wasn't the first sub 6 rating for the game I've seen; the other being PC Gamer, who I find to be a reputable site.

@st

I'm going to disagree with you on the PC Gamer thing. If you can't name the reviewers you approve/dissaprove of, that's just a base statement.
As for The Last of Us, well, while I certainly think things could have been done better, it's still, easily, one of my favorite games. It's all opinion.
Lastly, on the review thing, opinions are just that - opinions. A review is a glorified opinion. The game is sitting at an 8 on Metacritic. That doesn't change the fact there are those out there who thought less of the game than to back that score.

I don't really lean on reviews to dictate which games I buy. There's a reviewer in YouTube - ACG - whose taste in games usually coincide with my own, and he was pretty unimpressed with the game. That tells me enough to figure I should probably grab this on the cheap sometime down the road, but I acknowledge it's not garbage.

Sometimes games are just average or, what it seems in this case, a missed opportunity that could have been much better. The latter is definitely the take I'm getting here.

🤔

That's not good. Granted I'm basing my opinion on the demo, on gameplay videos and on RE2 remake.

timotim1484d ago

Looks like they just did a poor job all around huh. Think maybe it was rushed and they saw money instead of quality after the success they had with the RE2 remake.

The cracks are indeed showing with this all new upcoming edition of Resident Evil 3. It's incredibly sad. They took everything we real Resident Evil fans loved about this franchise and ripped the DNA right out.

That's why world class veteran video game critic, Kubark Does Life, is pushing hard in the face of adversity to try and get this series back on track. Someone had to step up to that plate and say "Hey Capcom, maybe this series isn't where it needs to be." Folks, the reality of the situation is that Capcom didn't hit that home run with this all new upcoming edition if Resident Evil 3 and it's incredibly sad.

Yep, sounds like half a game and not even talking about the game length.
Half the quality, half the content....nicer graphics sure but couple of locations missing, no multiple endings and choices....they talked up the new Nemesis being a bit Alien Isolationy in terms of AI but it sounds like is mainly scripted which is a shame also.

Missed opportunity. I'm defo not putting full price down for this....been rushed it seems too cash in on Re2's success.

Kubark1484d ago

Agreed. I'm not paying full price for this game. I'm not sure if I'm ever going to play it tbh. Let's just hope us real Resident Evil fans can somehow...someway...get through to Capcom.

Starting to get bored of the mounds of remakes anyway. They make the graphics nicer but core systems get overlooked often.

True fan service would have been to make improvements to the original which a large amount (not all) would say doesnt hold up to RE and RE2. They could have kept all or most of the content in the original (locations, endings) and built on it. Could have increased the length of the game if it made sense to do so and tighted up some of the weaker points in the original.

Better graphics, cut locations, cut length (slightly), cut endings/choices.....just sounds like a disappointment to me. Could have been the opportunity to make the original RE 3: Nemesis an amazing game instead of just 'Good'. That would have been true fan service from Capcom for sure.

I'll give this a go but not in a rush and not for full price. Half effort = half the cash at the most from me.
Having said all this I think they did well with RE2 Remake and Resi 7. Just called this months ago being a cash in. I knew it. Sad really as Nemesis could have really benefited from the love even if remakes are getting a bit boring now.

whitbyfox1483d ago

Cut from what? This is Resi 3 not 2.

PyroMessiah861483d ago

Where did I say it's Resi 2? Keep up...
There's a mound of content cut from the original RE3: Nemesis in the new version.

EKWB reportedly plagued with financial disarray many gaming pc's left without parts

EK Cooling allegedly has slipped itself into a hot soup of seemingly endless financial woes, where it has not paid its staff, suppliers, and contractors for many months as the company is facing liquidity problems and a surplus of inventory left unsold, stuck in the warehouse for a more extended period. Gamers Nexus investigated these claims made by former and current personnel, where he found trails of unpaid bills lasting as long as three to four months and unpaid raises that accumulated for almost a year.

EK Water Blocks has two entities—a Slovenian-based headquarters and a US-based subsidiary, EK Cooling Solutions. Steve narrated the series of events in detail, stating that the company was reportedly irresponsible and negligent regarding payment. Consequently, partners and employees are forced to share the burden of alleged mismanagement. It all begins with its extensive range of products, leading to a surplus of goods. EK has over 230 water blocks, 40 liquid cooling kits, 85 reservoirs, 40 pumps, 73 radiators, and 212 miscellaneous accessories.

Yes this is not about video games directly but indirectly this will impact the pc gaming/workstation space hard.

This company is massive one of two in the water cool space so if it goes poof then thousands out there have no spare parts or half built computers.

SO yeah i know not about a video game but think of it as amd leaving the pc space but this is ekwb that could be leaving water cooling in the pc space
