There's been many articles discussing those comments (and misrepresenting them).

They told investors that they see F2P models making up a larger share of revenue. But they also talked about how that doesn't mean that their AAA's like AC are going away.

If we didn't have covid delays, they would have released 5 AAA games in a 6 month span last fall/winter.

That's not normal, and it's important to note to investors. At the same time, F2P models will continue to be popular.

Games media took a no-brainer statement and turned it into this doom and gloom narrative.

But it is doom and gloom. The games they currently make are the same thing with a new skin sold at full price and they also slow down progress and sell "time savers" for an additional price that probably makes the game work like normal. So we're gonna get true f2p games loaded with micros and the same full price games also with micros
Sounds like execs to me.

I played through Valhalla, Legion, and Immortals. No MTXs used. Thoroughly enjoyed them.

Progress was fine.

Rainbow Six has essentially gone F2P, and is fantastic IMO.

But they'll have that mix of the MP service games like R6, Skull and Bones, etc. With FC6 and Quarantine on the horizon, I don't see the concern.
