The fashion of Joe Biden’s inauguration day made a big splash on social media. Watchers took notice of everything from Lady Gaga’s “Hunger Games” look to Bernie Sanders’ sensible “Vermont grandpa” winter wear to a rare unicorn of sneakers sighting.

Bernie Sanders, meanwhile, got props for his warm jacket and colorful mittens. The mittens, which are made from recycled material, were one of his faves from the campaign trail.

Also trending on Twitter were the unicorn of sneakers: rare Dior 1 Air Jordan sneakers. The fancy kicks were worn by Nikolas Ajagu — the partner of Meena Harris, Vice President Kamala Harris’ niece. The sneakers retail for anywhere from $2,000 to $7,000.

The women of the inauguration made a statement in purple. Kamala Harris, former first lady Michelle Obama, and former first lady and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton all wore different shades of purple to signify unity between the red and blue parties. Harris also wore purple as a nod to Shirley Chisholm, the first Black woman elected to Congress.
