Miami (FL) received a verbal commitment on Wednesday from a top 247 player in wide receiver Jacolby George. Such a commitment is notable on its own, but this marks the second time in nearly a year that George has given a non-binding pledge to the Hurricanes for the 2021 recruiting cycle.

George initially committed to the Canes on June 23, 2019, following a busy month in which he received an offer, took an unofficial visit and attended two camps with the program. However, George then decommitted from Miami on Nov. 24, one day after the Canes' historic and stunning loss to FIU.

"I will like to thank my family, coaches for supporting me with my decision," George wrote on his Twitter account. "Also would like to thank coach [Taylor Stubblefield] for giving the opportunity to have an offer from the University of Miami but with this being said I am de-committing from the University of Miami, and will be opening my recruitment to all schools."

With the passage of time, though, George is back with Miami and made his announcement on his Twitter account.

247Sports lists George, from Plantation High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, as a three-star wideout. He is ranked as the 26th-best prospect in Florida, the 34th-ranked wide receiver and the 178th overall recruit for 2021. His scouting report reads as follows:

"Small in stature, but hardly developed physically which means that he should only get bigger once lifting on a regular basis. A crafty route runner that gets quickly in and out of his breaks. Makes difficult catches look relatively easy. Understands how to find space in a defense. Can work the slot or on the outside. One of the main reasons why his school made the second round of the state playoffs as a junior. Won't be able to shy away from contact in college which means that he needs to get more comfortable taking hits. Needs to also get better at blocking. Has the chance to become a regular starter for a Power 5 program with the potential there to eventually find his way onto an NFL roster."
