  • Shane Dawson has been demonetized from YouTube.
  • The “canceling” comes as a result of his past content.
  • Logan Paul says he feels sorry for Dawson — but he just might be the only one.

Shane Dawson feels sad, and so does Logan Paul.

Just one day after YouTube demonetized the content on all three of Dawson’s channels, Logan Paul said he felt sorry for the embattled content creator.

He’s probably the only person alive who feels sympathy. At least I hope that’s true.

Let’s Remember Why Shane Dawson Was Canceled

In today’s “cancel culture” world, it’s easy to dismiss yet another cancellation as the latest boring headline in a news cycle.

That’s not the case with Shane Dawson.

YouTube demonetized Dawson’s channels — a kiss of death for content creators — for a simple reason. He’s really, really awful.

He’s donned blackface , said the n-word , and made jokes about pedophilia .

Most egregiously, he simulated pleasuring himself to a photo of a then-11-year-old Willow Smith .

There really isn’t anything worse he could have done, save for perhaps murdering a man on live television. (Although he did share his “murder fantasies”  on his channel.)

And this is who Logan Paul feels sorry for.

Logan Paul Has No Room to Talk

Let’s remember that, like Shane Dawson, Logan Paul (and his brother Jake) have a really awful history.

Let’s also recall that Logan Paul suffered a blowback cycle of his own  after he filmed a dead body in Japan.

Which is, perhaps, why he sends his best regards  to his fellow embattled content creator.

Although Shane was younger when he did these things, he’s an adult now and there’s less room to grow. I don’t know if people are as willing to listen to his change because they see what they see now and it’s hard to separate that. He’s going through it in a major way. This too shall pass. Hang on and find a way to just improve and get better.

Barring intensive psychotherapy, though, it’s hard to imagine that there’s a way for Shane Dawson to truly “get better.”
