Mourning Trump selling out
Kurds to Turkey’s Erdoğan

Re: “Deaths rise as Turkey presses on with offensive in Syria” (Eastbaytimes.com, Oct. 11):

The reputation and standing of the United States among our allies in the world has taken a beating since President Trump took office. The list of incidents if long. Now, with the abandonment of tour allies in the war on ISIS, the Kurds, to the depredations of the Turks, I mourn not only for the Kurds, but for our good name being trampled in the mud by Trump.

Reports from Syria show assassinations of civilians, implying ethnic cleansing. This attack also risks the escape of 11,000 captive ISIS fighters held by the Kurds, and a new cycle of vicious war.

By the way, it was the Kurds that did all the hard work in defeating ISIS in Northern Syria, and then Mr. Trump sells them out to Erdoğan to pursue Turkey’s long vendetta against the Kurds. Mr. Trump, how low can you go?
