From PSU: "We have just got our first look at Destruction AllStars on PS5 in a new State of Play showcase and Lucid Games has revealed how the microtransactions in the game will work. And, to put it nicely, they don’t seem particularly user friendly.
Cosmetics in the game can be bought with two currencies. AllStar Points are earned in-game by playing online. However, Destruction Points can only be purchased through the PlayStation Store with real-world money. Most cosmetics can be bought with either currency; however, some like the rarest colors and skins are locked behind Destruction Points."
Our next event, Unite, is launching today Wednesday, August 10 and brings with it a new AllStar Pass and brand new Trios playlist to dive into, with plenty more to look forward to!
I decided to try this again first time since launch week. I'm actually enjoying it haha.
From Eurogamer: "Destruction AllStars developer Lucid Games says that it is still committed to supporting the game in the long term after a "rocky start".
In a tweet on the game's official account, the developer said: "We've put so much work in to the game from feedback and talking with our players over the last few months.
"We're still determined to keep on pushing forward and there's still so much more to come!"
Well they went from full price to throwing it onto PS+ monthly, I'd like to know who tested the game and said "Yeah, It's fun"
New content and upgraded game modes roll out next week.
It's a fun game and I try firing it up once in a while but matchmaking takes too long as no one is playing it anymore
This game feels like it's *this* close to being great, it's just missing something. I think if they went with weapon pick ups like Twisted Metal (yes, I know TM is in the works at Firesprite) then that could have been it. Relying on just ramming is a bit meh.
Having cosmetics behind a paywall am not to fussed but not happy at all about some challenges being behind a paywall
Whole lot of speculation. Even says that the destruction points will be earnable later this year. Blah blah i get it we hate microtransactions but it was kind of a given this game would have them especially after going psplus.
Story challenges "locked" are kind of a bummer but let's be honest how deep are the stories going to be when they all have to play out through the gameplay. That said they put some playstation characters in game ill probably buy them games looks fun and busy always something to do and its "free"
Man, who cares???? Stupid title shitting on a game just being shown off. And it’s cosmetics, again, who cares??? “Most cosmetics can be bought with either currency; however, some like the rarest colors and skins are locked behind Destruction Points." The game isn’t out yet, relax and stop creating bullshit stories about unreleased games. Yes we all know they put micro transactions in games because it’s been proven that they can generate billions of dollars for developers. All you “clickbait title” authors suck
The more developers lock behind paywalls the worse for the consumer, so thats going to be big old pass from me
If they game is free to play doesn't bother me to much.
