Doris Burke shades ex-husband during ESPN broadcast

The internet is in agreement for once: This world isn’t worthy of Doris Burke.

While commentating on Monday’s game between the New Orleans Pelicans and the Memphis Grizzlies, ESPN analyst Burke dropped an unexpected remark during a replay, when Pelicans point guard Lonzo Ball appeared to knee the Grizzlies’ Ja Morant.

“I do like being right. Ask my ex-husband,” Burke quipped to partner Mark Jones, who erupted into laughter.

“There is a reason it’s ex, huh?” Jones replied.

Burke was previously married to Gregg Burke, who coaches golf at the University of Rhode Island.

Naturally, Burke’s comment awoke the beast that is social media.

“Doris Burke is a queen and that’s just facts,” one user tweeted.

“This is why we love Doris Burke,” another commented.

“Doris Burke is a national treasure,” one wrote.

In June, Burke — who battled coronavirus earlier this year — opened up about the NBA restart in Orlando with The Post’s Steve Serby.

“As much as I know that the NBA is going to do absolutely everything in their power to make this environment as safe as possible, the fact of the matter is the ultimate bad outcome remains a possibility,” Burke said at the time.

“There’s inherent risk that everybody who goes down to Orlando assumes, and how you work that out in your own mind is a very personal choice. And I don’t think we should criticize, judge or in any way, shape or form have negative feelings for those who express concern, because it’s legitimate and it’s real.”
