On the first day of the public impeachment hearings for President Donald Trump, at least one Colorado business is hoping to spur community discussions on the issue.

A sign outside Tony P’s Pizza in Denver’s Highland neighborhood displays its drink specials: Impeachmint Tea and Impeachmint Julep. Owner Tony Pasquini said the sign has been up for a couple of weeks outside his restaurant, at 2400 W. 32nd Ave., during the talk of presidential impeachment.

“I think people should discuss it,” Pasquini said. “We’re a restaurant, and people come to interact with other people, and we’re a gathering place where people can come to meet other people in the neighborhood. That’s what we’re missing in the world.”

While the businessman has his own opinions on the impeachment process, he keeps them to himself while at work.

“We’re for everyone,” he said. “We like all different kinds of people. We don’t discriminate against anyone for any reason.”

The reaction to the featured drinks has been more positive than negative, Pasquini said. The specials are just a way to have some fun.

Impeachmint Tea is made with fresh-brewed tea, peach puree and mint, and the Impeachmint Julep is a traditional julep with whiskey and peach.
