Big Shenmue fan...definitely one of my best franchises ever in gaming. My Surface Studio is ready!

SkatterBrain1616d ago

surface studio can handle games?

timotim1616d ago (Edited 1616d ago )

You better believe it! GTX1070 with 32GBs of DDR4...I think I'm good haha.

I currently play The Outer Worlds on it at ULTRA 2560 X 1600...that's higher than PS4 will be able to play the game. Play Gears 5 at ULTRA dynamic 4K 60FPS. Sea of Thieves at 4K/30FPS. Here's some screen shots taken off my Studio...

@Shaggy

Clearly you didn't read my comment below on that very subject below. Yes, my money...but as Ive already stated, I didn't just buy my Studio to play games on. And while I could have gotten something cheaper and more powerful, I would have missed out on the Studio's screen which is better than any monitor you can name in terms of picture quality and functionality being that its both touch screen and has pen support. Then theirs the form factor and versatility that a mere tower would not provide. I kicked out a lot of money no doubt...but I am completely happy with my purchase.

What's with the Surface shills lately? Weird, and definitely MS employees.

timotim1616d ago

Well I mean, if I said "my MacBook", would you have questioned it? Im a Surface guy. I have owned 5 Surface devices (6 if you count the headphones)...that's my twist, what can I say. Think about it...most PC gamers use a generic tower with a code-like name...even if they did give the name of their tower, hardly anyone would know what it was. Thus most just stick to the generic term of "PC". Not the case with the Surface line of products...I can say something like "my Surface Pro" and most people (on this site at least) would know exactly what im talking about...it would be no different than saying "my Switch" or "my PS4"...instantly recognizable names instead of saying something like NZXT H510 haha.

rainslacker1616d ago

@tim

I've always found it kind of weird when people say what they're going to be playing it on when saying they're excited to play a game. Whether console of some sort, some form of PC, Mac, or whatever. Just sounds unnatural. I know why people do in in the console war of course, and even say PC as a generic term for the same effect. But, "surface studio" is oddly very specific.

timotim1615d ago

@rain

Ok. Why are you telling me what you are comfortable with saying. Obviously, i said Surface Studio because it's the name of the device I (key word) will be playing the game on and I'm totally comfortable with saying that. Why do people on this board feel we must all be carbon copies of one another...you're not me. End of.

You spend a lot of money for that. Most gamers can't afford that lol. My PC was $1700 and I have RTX super 2070 ain't no way I'm spending £4000 for a laptop

timotim1614d ago (Edited 1614d ago )

I never worry about what others spend their own money on. That's not even adult like haha. I would never buy a Lamborghini even if i could afford it, but i wouldn't feel any type of way for those that do...its not coming out my pocket so whats it matter to me...if it's what they wanted and got it legally, i could give two thoughts to it.

I don't see a lot of laptops with 32GBs of ram, but I can tell you the screen on my Studio cooks your PC monitor and your PC probably doesn't even support touch and pen input.

Never played much of the series, but always had an interest. Bought the HD collection and preordered 3 but still haven't had the time to really play them, adulting sucks sometimes...

Segata1616d ago

I hope you enjoy them and expect a slow burn. If you like to take your time and evelope yourself in the world it should be fun.

isarai1616d ago

Always loved that aspect of games, rarely ever use fast travel in open world RPGs, and love wandering around discovering new things, doesn't even have to be quest related. So this series has always been right up my alley, just never had a dreamcast, and never ran into a copy of 2 when i owned an xbox, later when i had income, didn't feel like paying a couple hundred just to play them. Now i just need the time, but life aint giving it to me. I'll get to them eventually, but till then i just want to ensure i got them.

Spenok1616d ago

This is a really good way to put it.

Segata1616d ago

That's what fans want but regular media will shit all over it.

Traecy1616d ago

I never thought the earlier Shemue games were interesting & this one looks more of the same. People that enjoyed the earlier Shemue games hopefully they'll enjoy the new one as well.

Never say never, I really didn't expect to ever see Space Marine 2 and 12 years later its almost here.
So there is still hope for all these games.

Chocoburger68d ago

I've completed 5 of the games on the list, but the author forgot to include Advent Rising. It was supposed to be a trilogy, but it bombed hard, and the two sequels never got made. It was Mass Effect, a console generation before Mass Effect.

The game is buggy and unpolished, it needed a few more months of development, but the potential was there. At the end of the game, you have all these super abilities, I remember the stomp attack that created a shockwave being especially powerful.

shinoff218368d ago

I personally think days gone will recieve some sort of sequel at some point. I'm personally also hoping it's not the rumored multiplayer online stuff. I'd think most that enjoyed it would rather thisnto.

Knightofelemia68d ago

Sony needs to dust off Sly Cooper and Days Gone so needs a sequel two of my favorite Sony titles. Bulletstorm I love great game wish it also got a sequel. And I wish Namco would finally give Enslaved a sequel another great game.

Dragon's Dogma and XCOM 2 are the best deals. The rest of the games are still overpriced. I would say 8.99 is good for AC: Origins, but you need to put $10 more into MTs to avoid the grind that slows down the story. So, the game is actually 18.99.

It's not on this list, but Pathfinder: Kingmaker is only $9.99. This is a deal if you have a current gen. consoles, as it runs poorly on prev. gen.

hangdang681d ago

I beat AC origins without grinding or spending any money on MTX?

anast680d ago

I had to grind for side missions. So, did many other people.

Has anyone been able to login in to the ps store on ps5 I haven't been able to in days and my network is good.

RedDevils680d ago

Reset or shutdown your PS5. I always can go login to PS5, in fact just a moment ago.

HeliosHex680d ago

Hey thanks again. Although the shutdown/reset didn't work i found that resetting the mdm and hub did the trick. I use a Lan network instead of wifi. In case anyone has a similar setup and problem.

RedDevils679d ago

I forgot to mention about the router reset, that usually do the trick when it come to network problems happen with iphone/android. btw np
