Four Boston-based venture capitalists have landed on Forbes’ Midas list, which recognizes the world’s most savvy tech investors.

In order to compile the Midas list, Forbes looks at the portfolios of venture capitalists across the country and considers their investments in companies worth more than $200 million during the past five years. The Midas list formula favors larger deals that were made earlier on in the investment.

Several big names in venture capitalism – think Peter Thiel and Steve Anderson – were on this year’s list of elite investors. Here are the Boston tech investors that were selected:

  • 17. Neeraj Agrawal – Agrawal is a partner at Battery Ventures, whose notable investments include application performance management platform AppDynamics, and Boston-based online furniture company Wayfair.
  • 31. Eric Paley – Paley is a Managing Partner at Founder Collective, which houses one of its main offices in Cambridge. Founder Collective has invested in big names like Uber and Buzzfeed as well as local hits, such as Cambridge-based Bookbub and Pill Pack, which is headquartered in Manchester, N.H.
  • 49. Joel Cutler – Cutler, a co-founder and Managing Director of General Catalyst, has overseen the firm’s investments in companies such as AirBnB, The Honest Company, and Warby Parker.
  • 82. David Fialkow – Fialkow is also a co-founder and Managing Director of General Catalyst. Additionally, he is a board member of Sam Adams’ brewer The Boston Beer Company and recently premiered three documentaries at the Sundance film festival, one of which was picked up by Netflix.
  • 89. Bijan Sabet – Sabet is perhaps best known for his early investment in social media platforms, including Twitter. He is a partner at Spark Capital, which has invested in Boston companies such as Wayfair. He operates out of the firm’s Back Bay office.
