This was actually a fair test - showed temperatures from all over (including the expansion slot), and even included the vent temps, which windows central did not do. 60 degree vent temp on the Series X is good to see because that should tell everyone that the fans are doing their job of pulling the heat out of the box.

Awesome glad both the XSX and the PS5 will have no overheating problems and both will be quiet as a mouse.

Yeah it seems the reports suggesting it was too hot are totally false. It’s a very well designed console and has a higher end gpu aswell it makes complete sense why Microsoft went with the tower design. Just need to see a next gen game taking advantage of it that’s when we will see how hot it will get. I really can’t see them having any issues though

current gen game is 62 degrees, a full next gen game is likely to be 10 degrees hotter so 70 degrees range

not sure why he didn't test it, on its side / in a closed cabinet and with the vent covered

the ps5 is rumored to run hotter and use more power but with a 25% higher clock speed its to be expected, it will be interesting seeing the comparisons none the less

Excellent watch, the main heat signature is from the exhaust (fully expected).

Great piece of engineering, good to see we are getting loads of independent tests and reviews before launch, Microsoft being so open with the console before launch is good for the brand.

dont forget there is no demanding games available yet, which push console to its limits
