Godfall Dev Says Playing With DualSense Is 'Incredible,' 60 FPS At 4K Is 'The Future

From PSU: "Counterplea Games CEO Keith Lee has spoken at length about the upcoming PS5 launch game Godfall during an interview with Official PlayStation Magazine UK. Chiefly, he touched base on the capabilities of the new system, and how from a technical point of view, 60 FPS at 4K is “the future, that’s given.”

SullysCigar1284d ago

I can't wait for the DualSense. Dirt Rally is amazing in VR even with the DualShock 4, so the extra tactile feedback from the new controller in VR Rally games, for example, will be a really worthwhile immersion leap for those without a driving set up (which is obviously most people).

GamerRN1283d ago

I haven't read up on the controller, so what is actually changed? Isn't it all just rumble?

RpgSama1283d ago

I'm sorry, but I find it hard to believe that you haven't read any of the differences, based on your comment history I would be inclined to say that you are just low key downplaying.

DARK_WOLF1283d ago

Yep its all just rumble like xbox sx. No innovation next gen goodness here!

RedDevils1283d ago

GamerRN is an Xbox fanboy, of course he a troll in any PS relate articles.

Neonridr1282d ago

triggers have tactile feedback and can offer resistance. Not all games are going to be able to take advantage of it, but it'll be a pretty cool addition.

Father__Merrin1282d ago

It's better than xbox sx controller that's all that matters

S2Killinit1282d ago

@GamerRN
I havent read up on xbox series something, so what is it? Is it a new console?

GamerRN1282d ago

Ok so as you all get butthurt that I don't read articles about controllers, you are all ranting and raving about trigger resistance?

Jesus the bar is low here

Neonridr1282d ago

it'll be interesting to compare that to a wheel & pedal setup. I wonder if the tactile triggers will offer *more* immersion in terms of feedback.

I have a T300 so it's nice to have both options I guess.

I'd rather have a future where 120hz on consoles is a given.

neutralgamer19921283d ago (Edited 1283d ago )

Let's get to steady and consistent 4K/60FPS first. Console gaming doesn't need 120hz. We are still seeing AAA 30FPS titles on next generation

oof461283d ago

If given the choice between 1440p and 4k, I'd go with 1440p, if it meant 120hz was always feasible. I hate that devs will always target graphics over performance. That was the gist of my comment. Watch, when 4k/60 becomes the norm, they'll start touting 8k. Graphics are nice, but I'd rather have a silky smooth experience.

alb18991283d ago

Almost nobody has tv that support 120fps.

oof461283d ago

Yet.

But there are a good number of people who play on monitors that support 120hz. Me, included.

TheScotsman1283d ago (Edited 1283d ago )

oof46 , I bet your monitor doesn't support 4k/120hz. As that would require hdmi 2.1 for consoles. Maybe if your lucky it supports 1080p/120hz via hdmi. And the likely hood is only the display port will accept anything higher

oof461283d ago

@TheScotsman: No, it's only 2.0, but will upgrade with the new monitors coming out. I doubt many games will support 4k/120 (at least within the first year).

GamerRN1283d ago

@alb1899

Q90R here and it supports 4k120...

That being said I'd rather the best looking 4k60 solid framerate I can get. The extra polish is better than the extra frames to me

Jin_Sakai1283d ago

Both my TVs are LG C9 that support 4K 120fps but I’m more than happy with 60fps. No need for 120fps. To many sacrifices would have to be made. I’m fine with anything other than 30fps which stutter on OLED.

Teflon021283d ago

Given Consoles are Generally played on TV's that skipped 1440p, it would make sense they aimed for 4K instead on PC I have a 144hz 1440p monitor but I dont care for next gen to scale to PC preferences. If you're on PC you likely don't care anyways

yeahokwhatever1282d ago

@theScotsman
he said "rather" meaning OR. would RATHER have 120hz then 4k.

Play with your PC and move along.

NEXUS-61283d ago

oof46 - I've said many times to others, just game on PC. If these things are so important to you or anyone else - PC has your back.

As for me, I say push those visuals as hard as you can.

crazyCoconuts1283d ago

Amen brother. Mainstream agrees which is why most games will not be tuned for 120fps

BrettAwesome1283d ago

I'd rather have 240hz. Or 480hz because I'm 4 times cooler and more edgy than you! And also I'm the winner. It's all about winning and measuring dicks!

InUrFoxHole1283d ago

Then you've already lost sir! Zip...

BrettAwesome1283d ago

@InUrFuckHole
Oh, you again. What are you? Wage slave at a Walmart? "Sir" this and "Sir" that. You sound like you're everybody's bitch

The future is without always connected and without always online. The criticism applied in 2013 is still valid in 2020 and beyond.

Sunny123451283d ago

Thats what people said when they used to go rent dvds. Netflix changed that.

We live in an always online world anyways. Nitpicking is futile.

JEECE1283d ago

Lol that's why Netflix added the ability to download, right?

jukins1283d ago (Edited 1283d ago )

Netflix added downloads to lessen the load on peoples data plan lol. Not because lack of net access lol.

I'll never understand people who complain about always online. . . .while always being online. . .

tontontam01283d ago

There are shows in netflix which I can download and play it "offline".

I can buy physical disc movies and play it "offline".

netflix did not change that.

Microsoft Seemingly Closes Bethesda France

As part of its plans to cut 1,900 jobs, Microsoft has reportedly shut down operations at Bethesda France, letting go roughly 15 people

Hereandthere12h ago

Microsoft should have left them stay 3rd party

GamerRN10h ago

If they are let go, they can be whatever they want. They ARE 3rd party now... 🤦

Barlos7h ago

Yeah, they're also jobless.

GamerRN48m ago

They can form a company if they want, they are just as jobless as if "Microsoft had left them as 3rd party".

peppeaccardo2h ago

"MIcrosoft leaves Bethesda do what they know how to do best" ... close! Oh the irony ....
(Citation from a week old article)

PassNextquestion12h ago(Edited 12h ago)

Bethesda France was made up of roughly 15 people... they couldn't of being doing much

Bethesda France mainly did publishing and marketing within the region

blacktiger10h ago

that's a shame for you to say that, i'm sure Elite loves hearing what you just said.

Profchaos12h ago(Edited 12h ago)

Bethesda France focused on publishing and marketing in the region. And 15 people lost their jobs as part of the closure.

I wonder if this is part of Microsoft's strategy to abandoned physical media or possibly gamepass advertising makes their roles redundant you don't need to market a game as hard when the majority of players get the game as part of a sub which already promoted upcoming games

Tacoboto12h ago

It's France too, there's a high likelihood only 1-2 people on the team even had an Xbox.

Profchaos11h ago

Possibly guven all the leaks we know the Xbox brand is really struggling in the region.

Yi-Long8h ago

Well, if your consoles and games are barely found in any stores any more, of course you're gonna struggle finding consumers ...

XiNatsuDragnel11h ago

Tbh Microsoft I think Bethesda being 3rd party same with Activision would probably more competitive than thus scenario imo

Profchaos9h ago(Edited 9h ago)

I think it would have been better for all parties really especially gamers

TheColbertinator10h ago

The recently purchased Activision French offices might take over all the licensing and marketing for Microsoft in France from now on.

I’m Glad Atlus & SE Changed Dates To Avoid Competing With Shadow Of The Erdtree

Saad from eXputer: "I'm glad I don't have to choose between Square Enix, Atlus, and FromSoftware due to bad release windows and Shadow of the Erdtree."

H91d 6h ago

More intelligent than guerilla games

raWfodog12h ago(Edited 12h ago)

Atlus is releasing their game one week before Erdtree, SE is releasing theirs one week after.

HZD released four days before Zelda, HFW released one week before Elden Ring.

It seems to me like they are still releasing their games too close to Erdtree.

Sony Could Increase Your Game's Difficulty If It Sees You Complain About It

Sony has recently published a new patent that wants to dynamically handle the games' difficulty and gameplay based on the player's emotions.

jznrpg13h ago

This is something I might use. Sometimes I play some good games but they don’t have difficulty option and are a little too easy.

Profchaos13h ago

Souls games will be like that players struggling make it harder

PassNextquestion12h ago(Edited 12h ago)

I think if used correctly it could work well

jambola8h ago

cool idea
cool idea for horror games especially
the way it's explained here sounds like it could never be forced hopefully, so that's ok with me
