OAKLAND — A 41-year-old man was fatally shot Wednesday in an East Oakland neighborhood, authorities said.

His name has not yet been released. Authorities believe he lived in Oakland.

The man was shot about 7:28 p.m. Wednesday in the 8300 block of International Boulevard in the city’s Woodland neighborhood.

Officers responding to a ShotSpotter alert found the man outside suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Despite emergency life-saving measures, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

A motive for the killing is under investigation and no arrests have been announced.

The death is the 104th this year that Oakland police are investigating as a homicide.

Last year at this time, police had investigated 79 homicides in the city. The city finished with 109 total homicides last year, and peaked in 1992 at 175 homicides.
