Subtle.

While it’s not yet December — we checked, using our keen investigative skills — Fallout 76’s December update actually is live in the game. Originally scheduled to release next week, the Steel Dawn content patch accidentally rolled out to all Xbox players. Bethesda looked at that, shrugged, and decided to go with it by releasing it to PC as well.

“Earlier today, there was an error that caused players in our Xbox community to download the Steel Dawn Update ahead of schedule, but prevented them from actually playing,” Bethesda explained. “We immediately investigated ways to get our Xbox players back in-game as soon as possible, but, through our discussions, the entire BGS team felt confident that Steel Dawn is ready to go.”

So happy early patch day, Fallout 76 players! Steel Dawn brings the Brotherhood of Steel into Appalachia, opens the doors to underground CAMP shelters, and removed any negative effects from hunger and thirst (huzzah!). There’s a lot more to this, of course, including the upcoming new season, so you’ll want to read the patch notes for the full details.
