David Garland, La Cañada: Garland scored the game-winning basket as time expired in a 50-49 victory over South Pasadena. The Spartans are 13-5 overall and 3-0 in the Rio Hondo League. La Cañada trailed by a point against the Tigers with six seconds left in the battle of undefeated teams in the RHL. La Cañada’s Ty Reynolds dribbled the length of the floor before passing to Garland for the winning basket.

Liam Miller, Peninsula: The Panthers entered the final week of the Bay League regular season with a 3-0 record, thanks to Miller’s consecutive double-doubles last week. Miller had 17 points and 11 rebounds in a 50-43 win over Palos Verdes, and he had 17 points and 10 rebounds in a 54-40 win against Santa Monica.

Sean McTague, JSerra: He scored two goals and assisted on another in a 3-1 win over Santa Margarita in a Trinity League game. The forward, who is committed to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, has scored seven goals with six assists. The Lions (10-2-1, 5-1) are in second place in the Trinity League. “He’s become that guy who is going to compete relentlessly, whether what he’s doing works out or not,” JSerra coach Erik Kirsch said.

Brandon Brown, Paloma Valley: Brown came through in the clutch, pinning Servite’s Noah Segura early in the second period to secure a 42-39 victory for the Wildcats in a meet between Division 1-ranked teams. Brown was trailing 2-0 to start the period, but he quickly scored a pinfall victory in the final match of the meet. Brown continued his strong week by winning the 152-pound championship and helping Paloma Valley capture the team title at the Hillcrest Tournament.

Elijah Price, St. Anthony: The 6-foot-9 forward contributed three double-doubles while leading the Saints to victories in showcase games and in a tight Del Rey League loss to St. Bernard. Price, a two-year team captain, scored 16 points, grabbed 13 rebounds and blocked two shots in a 81-64 victory over Beverly Hills. He scored 14 points with 10 rebounds in a 50-48 loss to St. Bernard. He had 20 points and 10 rebounds in a 60-59 triumph over Capistrano Valley Christian.
