GENEVA, March 7 (Xinhua) -- The new official website of the Olympic Museum was launched in Lausanne, Switzerland after the two-year project of accessing new Olympic-themed resources, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced on Thursday.

The new website provides a platform to experience the world's largest and most complete collection of Olympic heritage in a more storytelling and educational way.

"Thanks to the hard work from a very dedicated team, the new website offers many new capabilities," said Angelita Teo, Director of the Olympic Foundation for Culture and Heritage, in a statement.

Besides tourism information, the website offers more tour options and workshops for school students, and free classroom resources for download. Event planner can also use the platform to rent rooms for conferences, retreats or other corporate gatherings.

Fans can visit olympics.com/museum to explore Olympic stories, objects, news, information and multimedia resources through the "Explore" section, designed as an interactive online magazine.
